The Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Bataan presided by Vice Gov. Cris Garcia passed a resolution encouraging the lone city and 11 municipalities in the province to enact an ordinance mandating all barangays to create Persons with Disability (PWD) Committee and set up PWD Desk.

Upon motion by Board Member Noel Valdecanas, the provincial board unanimously approved the resolution.

The PWD Committee will serve as an advisory committee to the barangay council on PWD concerns.

It will also formulate PWD development plans and programs, and assist the council in setting the direction of economic and social development of PWDs.

The committee will also propose annual budgetary allocation for the operation of PWD Desk.

The resolution is in sync with RA 7277 declaring that PWDs be given by the State full support for improvement of their total well-being and integration to the mainstream society.
